Position Objective
· To
develop software as specified by the analysis team with strict
adherence to source code versioning and coding standards/conventions and
also ensure conformance to stipulated duration, cost and quality
· To
ensure smooth every day running of client applications/products on
provided infrastructure, resolve calls within stipulated SLAs and meet
set targets
· To ensure adequate customer satisfaction and zero tolerance to escalations.
Key duties/Responsibilities
· Researching, designing and writing new/updating existing software applications
· Unit testing new applications and fault finding
· Updating existing applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification
· 'Bolting together' existing software products and getting incompatible platforms to work together
· Investigating new technologies
· Assisting technical authors with writing operational documentation
· Maintaining systems by monitoring and correcting software defects
· Working closely with other staff, such as project managers, graphic artists, systems analysts, and sales and marketing
· Constantly
updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or
external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications
· Problem-solving and thinking laterally as part of a team, or individually, to meet the needs of the project.
· Unit tested and quality software Programs
· Clearly commented and versioned source codes
· Troubleshooting difficult or unusual situations, and suggesting workflow improvements to management.
· Ensure all support calls are logged and resolved within stipulated SLAs.
· A good understanding of PCs, operating systems, networking and applications, whether in-house or shrink-wrapped.
· Effective
listening, empathy, patience, and the ability to carefully walk a user
through problem resolution steps either remotely or in person.
· In terms of remote support, the capacity to visualize what's taking place on the user's desktop.
· The
aptitude to troubleshoot problems under pressure, and the ability to
defuse excited and sometimes irate users or customers, are also valuable
traits.
Experience and Certification:
· Experience with C#.Net as a software developer (not support analyst)
· Experience in relational database modeling and web based programming
· Exposure to Share point customization
· At least 3 relevant working experience and be able to work without supervision.
· He/she must have good knowledge of application development.
· Knowledge of SharePoint support &/or applications development.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to write clear, concise documentation for a wide audience.
· Ability
to communicate at all levels and be able to convert user and management
requirements into actionable plans and solutions.
· Ability to work well under pressure as an individual and as part of a team.
· Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Desirable Skills
· University degree in computer/Information Technology or related field.
· Must have at least 4yrs relevant working experience and is able to work without supervision
